Studies

Facts, figures, and data form the basis on which we inform and advise policymakers, the public, and, not least, our members. To this end, the association commissions its own studies and produces white papers.

Of course, we coordinate very closely with our partners and other institutions in this field. In this way, we provide businesses, policymakers, and society with in-depth insights into the changes in international logistics and infrastructure in modern commerce and support the industry’s digital transformation.

Working Groups

There are six standing working groups that meet regularly and address current trends in the industry. Spokespersons were elected from among the members; these individuals are also experts in the association’s areas of specialization.

Some working groups have formed special committees to address industry-specific challenges.

Our focus is on continuing education and consulting. The exchange and transfer of knowledge are crucial as the industry continues to digitize. logistic-natives’ events and projects offer members, partners, and interested parties a robust information platform in the national and international logistics and infrastructure sectors of modern retail.

The hands-on activities offered by logistic-natives are designed to help participants explore specific topics in depth and in a practical manner. Our specialists are happy to share their expertise directly with you.

Market Design

Logistic-natives was founded to successfully and actively shape the international logistics and infrastructure market for modern retail as an advocacy group. This requires intelligent regulatory frameworks. As an advocacy group, logistic-natives addresses current legislative issues. The association also pursues long-term goals for fundamental business-friendly reforms that go hand in hand with increased flexibility, reduced bureaucracy, and liberalization.

The relevant objectives are developed in direct dialogue with the association’s members. Logistic-natives acts as a partner to the political, business, and social sectors and makes its in-depth expertise available to them.

What Our Partners and Members Say

logistic-natives e.V.

With its pragmatic expertise, the network serves as a point of contact for representatives from politics, government, business, and other institutions to develop national and international solutions for modern commerce.

Here are some comments from our members and partners.

Micha Augstein

Modern commerce is more than just version 2.0 or 4.0 of something. It represents the fact that commerce is constantly evolving. Where do you or your business currently stand? What impact does logistics have on modern commerce, and are you taking full advantage of all the opportunities it offers?

In this regard, it’s fortunate that Logistic Natives—thanks to its diverse range of innovative members and in-depth discussions in its working groups—truly stands at the forefront of the modern and innovative logistics that commerce needs. Take advantage of and build upon this shared expertise.

Georg Wittmann

We are pleased to have logistic-natives as a strong partner at our side—one that actively advocates for the interests of small and medium-sized retailers and supports them in meeting the challenges of digitalization.

Toralf Schneider

Toralf Schneider—Logistics Native

I am a member of logistic-native because I want to actively rethink and redesign logistics processes together with other pioneers in the industry. To that end, logistic-natives e.V. offers me the perfect platform and the workspace I’ve been looking for for a long time.

Jesper Okkels

Jesper Oklels

“Modern Retail” encompasses so many aspects that need to be taken into account—in particular, topics such as digitalization, standardization, legislation, cross-border e-commerce, last-mile delivery, e-mobility, IT logistics, sustainability, and much more.

At logistic-natives, I find the expertise I need, provided by visionaries and pragmatic professionals from all areas of modern retail, its logistics, and state-of-the-art infrastructure.

Jan Brück

For Spring GDS, membership in Logistic Natives represents a logical expansion of its network and serves as an important source of ideas and inspiration for trends and developments in modern retail. A group of independent experts discusses current topics from all areas of logistics, thereby creating added value—both for their own operations and for the industry as a whole.

Rainer Will

The COVID-19 crisis has triggered a digital boom and increased package volumes in the Austrian e-commerce sector by more than 30 percent. This presents major opportunities for domestic online retailers, but also poses enormous challenges for the logistics industry. To stay on the cutting edge and keep an eye on innovative, sustainable delivery concepts, the Austrian Retail Association works closely with logistic-natives.

Hubert Biedermann

Membership in Logistic Natives gives us the opportunity to exchange ideas across borders with experts from a wide variety of logistics fields and to actively contribute ourselves. Expanding our network and the resulting inspiration and ideas create added value.

Luca Cassetti

Digital commerce is constantly evolving and gradually reshaping business processes. In this context of increasing digitalization, logistics plays a prominent role in ensuring high-quality service delivered in a timely and sustainable manner. Ecommerce Europe is pleased to have such a strong partnership with logistic-natives, who possess the expertise and are well positioned at the forefront of digital retailing and modern trade, providing tangible added value to the work we carry out at the European level.

Alexandra Horn

Standards are important for small and medium-sized enterprises, and small and medium-sized enterprises are important for standardization. Therefore, SMEs should actively participate in standardization and take advantage of this unique opportunity to help shape the rules and standards for the market. In particular, the transformation in the fields of logistics and mobility will give rise to new norms and standards, and SMEs should get involved in shaping them right here and now through logistic-natives e.V.

Bernd Kratz

The dynamic nature of the markets demands short change cycles in the supply chain. Logistics must respond quickly and flexibly to dynamically changing requirements—organizational, technical, political, and cross-border.
The Logistic Natives combine expertise across the various functions of holistic logistics with visionary thinking and planning on a European level.

It doesn’t get any better than this: Where else can you find a space to exchange exciting, new, quirky, and unique ideas—not to mention that you’re the first to get all the latest information? And last but not least: what a cool group of people.

Nic Heimann

People who are open to thinking differently make progress possible. That’s what we need—especially right now. And the Logistic-Natives challenge us to do just that. That’s why Uwe is on board, and he’s always eager to question the status quo.

Gregor C. Blach

The international and interdisciplinary philosophy of “logistic natives” is exactly the right approach: thinking outside the box, learning from one another, and broadening our horizons. This is how the industry can—and must—prepare itself for the future.

Marc Mühlenbach

Beam joined Logsitic-Natives primarily to exchange ideas. Our work is based on a solid understanding of problems, bottlenecks, and outdated processes in logistics. The more we learn about these through curated networks, the better we can build the logistics startups of tomorrow.

Michael Flachsel

Com4green Logistics GmbH was established to serve as a network for small and medium-sized logistics companies, acting as a neutral advocate and providing solutions to issues in the areas of digitalization, environmental sustainability, and business management.

Logistic Natives eV, with its focus on small and medium-sized enterprises, is therefore the natural and logical partner for us in strengthening the position of SME logistics providers vis-à-vis large corporate logistics providers.

Frauke Heistermann

Behind logistics’ vital role in supply chains are many people working in a wide variety of professions. Together with logistic-natives, we want to further advance the cause of logistics and raise its profile—not only to foster greater appreciation for this sector of the economy, but also to ensure, through our joint efforts, that logistics continues to run smoothly.

Jerrit Odewald

The Logistic Natives address two highly relevant topics that are already on our minds today—and which, when considered together, hold great potential for the future: logistics and modern retail in all their facets. When approached with a fresh and cross-cutting perspective, both offer enormous opportunities for Germany as a business location, but at the same time present enormous challenges.

A young, innovative network that defines approaches and establishes avenues in a pragmatic and non-ideological manner is most welcome. An interface that offers this space—this relevant platform—for business and politics in this field, as Logistic Natives does, provides tangible added value for all stakeholders. This aligns with my own thinking and that of ONC GmbH, so we’re happy to be a part of it.

Jan Dietrich Hempel

The GARBE Group has made it its mission to create spaces: logistics real estate developed with foresight and sustainability in mind to meet the challenges of tomorrow. For over 30 years, these core requirements have not only applied to our clients but have also served as our benchmark for partners and within our network. As a modern, well-organized company with an international presence, logistic-natives e.V. serves as a competent international network that shares and represents our economic and legal interests.

The pragmatic expertise of the many representatives from politics, government, business, and other institutions aligns with our strong sense of values. This is characterized by long-term relationships, open and trustworthy business practices, and the highest level of transparency.

Cosima Bär

End-to-end digital logistics is no longer just a competitive advantage; it is crucial for growth and survival in the market.

Wolfgang Hoeltgen

GreyOrange aims to help optimize cross-company processes using algorithms powered by software-based intelligence.

Andreas Weidner

The entire e-commerce industry is experiencing tremendous growth. Regulations and legislation prevent some merchants from participating (efficiently) in cross-border trade, but this is precisely where there is enormous potential. We want to contribute our knowledge and learn from others to become even better.

Gideon Martz

We are pleased to expand our network with Logistic Natives and, in doing so, reconnect with long-time acquaintances with whom we can create synergies in the field of intralogistics.

Felix Benecke

Today’s business environment is too unpredictable to rely solely on century-old “lines and boxes”

René Kopplow

Small country, big opportunities.

Don’t underestimate the e-commerce market in Belgium. Local Hero bpost is the key to success for German online stores.

Isabell Kochan

Differences can be a challenge. When you have a homogeneous group of people who all think alike, it’s easier to reach a comfortable consensus. Diversity means including people with different perspectives, different experiences, different opinions, and perhaps different work styles or expectations.

Rainer Buchmann

Digital commerce and technological advancements are constantly evolving. Changes in the supply chain and in our shopping
behavior are leading to different order structures and SKU ranges.
Modern market dynamics require rapid response and adaptation. Balancing purely organizational measures with the smart deployment of technology means striking a balance between flexibility and efficiency—the truth certainly lies somewhere in the middle, given the pace of change we’re experiencing.
Logistics Natives offers a platform for exchanging opinions and personal experiences in a pleasant and inspiring
environment, and I am honored to be a part of it.
